Counseling & Treatment Philosophy
Leveraging my 10+ years of clinical experience, I am consumed by the
conviction that true speech heals. When we are dishonest with ourselves and
others, we internally deposit distress, anxiety, and depression. Holding this in
mind, I aim in my personal and clinical practice to foster an environment
where truth is uncovered and revered. Why is it said, "The truth hurts?" Is it
not because the truth points to what we've been avoiding? I look forward to
partnering with those who are courageous enough to practice themselves
toward truth and lasting change.
I am theoretically oriented from a cognitive-behavioral perspective. I
have worked successfully with individuals and couples to modulate
manifestations of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma,
perfectionism, guilt, and shame. I understand therapy to be a collaborative
process where treatment goals are ongoing and explicit.
I am personally shaped by a biblical worldview that views humanity as in
ultimate need of redemption with Christ as its redeemer. I hope to always help
people to come to a greater understanding of themselves and to fulfill their
destiny in time. I look forward to hearing from you.
